Alhena is a full-featured, multi-platform Gemini browser for the gemini:// protocol.
Alehna is open source and available on GitHub.
Version 2.6 of Alhena is out!
If you want to try Alhena in a browser or VNC, check out the Docker Hub x64 image. While not as performant and no color emojis, it will give you a good idea how everything works. You can even persist your database and truststore locally. Instructions at the link.
Alhena running in Safari
Alhena supports Gemini and HTTPS protocols - no Spartan or Titan yet. Web pages are converted (poorly at the moment) into gemtext. Choose from multiple themes from the 'Windows' menu. Import a PEM file by right-clicking on a page for the respective host. Edit bookmarks, history, and client certs by right-clicking on their respective screens. If you find a bug or have an idea for an enhancement, email bradmgrier@gmail.com.
Alhena can display color emojis and ANSI color on all platforms. Networking and file I/O is asynchronous. Data is fed into the page renderer as it comes off the wire. This was probably overkill but it was fun getting it to work.
An '.alhena' directory is created in the user's home folder. This directory contains the database and cacerts file. To uninstall, simply delete the program (Mac/Linux) or uninstall from Windows' Settings. Delete the 'alhena' folder in your home directory and you're done.
Alhena is a star in the Gemini constellation.
